Online platforms
1. https://khanacademy.org/
A non-profit educational organization created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan with a goal of creating an accessible place for people to be educated. The organization produces short lectures in the form of YouTube videos. Its website also includes supplementary practice exercises and tools for educators. All resources are available to users of the website.
2. https://www.coursera.org/
A venture-backed, education-focused technology company founded by Stanford professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller that offers online courses and is based in Mountain View, CA. Coursera works with universities and other organizations to offer online courses, specializations, and degrees in a variety of subjects, such as engineering, humanities, medicine, biology, social sciences, mathematics, computer science, digital marketing, data science, and others.

A massive open online course (MOOC) provider. It hosts online university-level courses in a wide range of disciplines to a worldwide student body, including some courses at no charge. It also conducts research into learning based on how people use its platform. EdX differs from other MOOC providers in that it is a nonprofit organization and runs on the Open edX open-source software.
4. https://www.google.com/culturalinstitute/beta/
An initiative unveiled by Google following the 2011 launch of the Google Art Project. It is “an effort to make important cultural material available and accessible to everyone and to digitally preserve it to educate and inspire future generations.” As of June 2013, it included over 6 million items – photos, videos, and documents. The Cultural Institute has partnered with a number of institutions to make exhibition and archival content available online.

A for-profit massive open online course (MOOC) provider that offers courses geared toward art, music, and creative technology, fields which are falling behind other fields such as computer science in terms of number of courses offered in the MOOC space. It was launched on June 16, 2015 with 18 academic partners.

A media organization which posts talks online for free distribution, under the slogan “ideas worth spreading”. TED was founded in February 1984 as a conference, which has been held annually since 1990. TED’s early emphasis was technology and design, consistent with its Silicon Valley origins, but it has since broadened its focus to include talks on many scientific, cultural, and academic topics.

An online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in 12 different programming languages including Python, Java, PHP, JavaScript (jQuery, AngularJS, React.js), Ruby, SQL, and Sass, as well as markup languages HTML and CSS. The site also offers a paid “pro” option that gives users access to a personalized learning plan, quizzes, realistic projects, and live help from advisors.
